Many of our customers have a presence on YouTube. This allows small business owners, such as Ed Brown of Ed Brown Functional Fitness and Personal Training, to showcase their products and services while increasing their business’s web presence. In addition to providing a cost-effective solution to hosting video files, as a social network and video sharing platform, YouTube can benefit your website’s traffic through referrals. So, you’ve uploaded your video to your YouTube account, great! Here we show you how to embed that video in a blog post on your WordPress website.
Easy When You Know How
Adding a YouTube video is a straightforward process and can be achieved following these steps:
- Create a new post
- Grab the ’embed code’ from YouTube
- Paste the embed code into your post
- Publish your post
Boom! You’re done!
Let’s take closer look at these steps.
Create a New Post
Log in to your WordPress Dashboard, click Posts at the top of the left-hand sidebar and then click Add New.

Get the YouTube Embed code
Go to your video on YouTube, click the Embed button below the video, select your options and copy the code provided. You can specify the size of your embeded video at this stage.
Create Your Post
Go back to your new post. Click the HTML tab at the top right of your WordPress editor. This will bring up an HTML view of your post. Paste in your copied embed code.
